Health Professions advisor:

Dr David Drath: Coordinator of the Health Professions Committee since 1997 and a committee member since 1991.


Dr Drath

Background: He received his Ph.D. at NYU Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and his Post Doctorate at Harvard Medical School.

He has served on the faculty at Harvard Medical School, University of Texas Medical School and California State University, Fullerton.

California State University, Fullerton students are provided with undergraduate and/or post-baccalaureate advising aimed at preparing students for admission to medical, dental, pharmacy, optometry, veterinary, physical therapy, physician assistant and other allied health related sciences.

Dr Drath and other qualified advisors help design a curriculum of scientific study that meets the admission requirements of the professional school and that aids a student in preparation for the admission tests.

In addition, the office assists the students in the application process by providing feedback on applications and personal statements, direction on where to apply and centralized processing of letters of recommendation. Qualified students are eligible for a committee letter of recommendation.

Finally, the office assists the student in obtaining suitable clinical and/or research experiences that will enable the student to be competitive in the application process.
